When you first begin yoga, there are several things you can do to make your experience positive. This ancient tradition of breath, movement and meditation developed within the Hindu culture of the Indian subcontinent becomes the practitioner's sacred ritual.
Yoga has so many good health aspects for a person to benefit from. If yoga is one of your talents, consider sharing your gift, and teaching yoga professionally. A yoga instructor will slowly guide students through poses one at a time.
Teachers must know how to build, and modify, a pose for a less flexible or beginner student. Also, being rigid and inflexible will hinder your ability to perform well in sports and other athletic activities. The depths of your poses are not nearly as important as how deep you delve into yourself.
The advantage of a Yoga video is that you can do it at home on your own time. Do something you really enjoy.
