free yoga poses basics

Yoga is the art of release. In yoga sessions and class, people are taught to stretch their muscles so that they can be agile and flexible.

It is a union of the mind, body and breath, so all aspects of your life are impacted by your practice. Therefore, finding the right yoga retreat is equally a part of one's practice as is a particular inhalation of breath, an exhalation into a specific posture, or the stillness of silent observation. Besides yoga certification, it is important to have a basic understanding of human anatomy in order to accommodate students.

Studies have shown that people who practice yoga share a better optimism, better awareness and alertness and even appreciation for one s surroundings. Couch potatoes do not have to worry because Yoga is not physical fitness, but it is complete health on the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional planes of existence.

Flexibility will help you avoid injury during any athletic endeavors. Breathing helps you get relaxed and it also helps you move more deeply into the poses. Often when students try a new pose, they tend to hold their breath, so remind students often to breathe.

You shouldn't worry so much about the short-term effects, what really matters is the ultimate goal you want to achieve. Yoga helps reduces stress.
